Location: Various Counties in Florida
Firm’s Fee: $1.5 Million

Williams Geotechnical Group, a business unit of
Gannett Fleming, provides services for numerous
roadway and bridge construction and widening
projects for District 7 of the Florida Department of
Transportation. Working throughout the district within
the scope of this continuing contract, our firm performs
services including geotechnical engineering design,
subsurface exploration, and field and laboratory testing.
For example, our firm provided services for the Tampa Bay Sunguide Freeway Management System, which established traffic management systems throughout Tampa’s entire interstate system, including the Downtown Interchange of I-4 and I-275 (bridge, overpass, and roadway).
Many of the projects involve working within and around environmentally sensitive areas that require monitoring. Our firm also coordinates with local regulatory agencies and establishes effective processes and plans designed to protect environmental areas and resources.
Project coordination between the client, contractor, and subcontractors is essential to create seamless and safe operations. Daily, weekly, and monthly communication and coordination meetings are implemented, as are project completion review meetings.
